Green Cargo, the Swedish state-owned rail freight company, is not doing well. Last year it made a loss of EUR 35 million and without financial help from the Swedish government, it can not take the required steps to become a modern rail operator.

Yet another repainted and renumbered TRAXX AC2 of Green Cargo makes its appearance on the Scandinavian railway scene. The shiny Br 5404, (Ex-185 404) is the second locomotive to receive this update.

Meanwhile, Green Cargo is repainting its six TRAXX F140 AC2 electrics with DE-DK-SE-NO (Bridge) package. The Swedish operator is redeploying and rebranding the designated 185 332-334/404-406 as it has decided to leave the JV with Deutsche Bahn for freight services between Sweden/Norway, and Germany.
