Do you know what we have noticed in recent months? After the massive logistics operation to remove all the MRCE logos from Beacon Rail’s locomotives, the first electric locomotives started appearing with a complete makeover, including a repaint in Beacon blue.

Beacon Rail’s electric fleet is diverse and includes around 45Traxx locomotives. Since it acquired MRCE back in 2023, there are five different subtypes:

Class 145 / Traxx AC – were already in Beacon Rail’s fleet before 2023;
Traxx AC1 / 185 – partly in Beacon Rail’s fleet before 2023 – others come from MRCE;
Traxx AC2 / 185 – partly in Beacon Rail’s fleet before 2023 – others come from MRCE;
Traxx AC3 / 187 – come from MRCE;
Traxx MS2 / 484 – come from MRCE;

Today, we discuss the AC1s, as one of them just got Beacon Rail’s full paint scheme – the first of its kind.

Captrain locomotive 185 549 got a new design; Stickers, mostly blue, promoting Mannesmann’s Rohre (tubes), now cover the sides of the locomotive completely.
