At the start of July, Siemens Mobility celebrated the completion of the Allach plant’s modernization, the birthplace of the Vectron locomotive. With over 1,750 locomotives in service and more than 2,700 ordered, Siemens marked the milestone by showcasing a unique, galactic-themed Vectron on the plant’s outdoor test track. However, this eye-catching locomotive displayed no VKM number or ownership details, sparking curiosity across the industry. Its vibrant cosmic livery made it a highlight of the event, and a mystery yet to be solved.
