Two Three ELL Vectron locomotives, 193 440, 441 and 193 448, have been seen in DB design, coupled to ICE L trains. Note that all three machines were already white, so basically it means adding striping/logos/texts:
- ELL 193 440 (A10) – with text “Vectron for Passenger Transport.”
- ELL 193 441 (A10, used by RailAdventure, seen in Berlin) with text “Vectron for Passenger Transport.”
- ELL 193 448 (A10, ex RCG, seen in Fulda) – no text.
Key developments
- In August 2025, ERA issued an authorization for placement in service for Talgo-built ICE L coaches.
- In September, Deutsche Bahn started to accept sets.
- DB Fernverkehr will be operating 4 ICE L trains before the end of the year.
- First route is Cologne-Berlin.
- The first train will officially be presented in Berlin at October 17, 2025.
Indeed, ICE L was set to debute on Berlin-Amsterdam first, but as the authorization for the Netherlands failing, ICE3neo has taken over on this route.
