In April 2025, Railcolor presented the striking new livery of Trustrail’s Traxx locomotive 185 325—an attention-grabbing design in blue, black, and red, inspired by a bold Transformer-meets-Terminator aesthetic.
Now, we take a closer look at the locomotive in operation and highlight several design adjustments that have since been made to create a more refined and harmonious overall appearance.

Since April, additional paintwork has been carried out to further refine the appearance of the locomotive. In this regard, the team behind Trustrail demonstrates true perfectionism. The handrails at the front of the locomotive have been repainted in either black or light blue, allowing them to blend more subtly with the background. Additionally, the steps on each corner of the locomotive, previously yellow, are now painted white. As yellow is not part of the original design, this adjustment contributes to a more coherent overall appearance.
That said, “coherent” is relative—after all, the aim of the design is to be bold, dynamic, and visually engaging. There’s meant to be a lot to take in.

Yes, locomotive 185 325 was previously known as the backbone-Traxx of DB Cargo. It was sold to and Fahrzeugwerk Karsdorf (FWK) became the vehicle keeper.
